About the Gala

The Jazz Association (Singapore) (JASS) Benefit Gala 2023 is now planned as a live event, and will be held on Saturday, 2 September 2023, at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore.

Themed, "Over the Rainbow", the JASS Benefit Gala 2023 will bring a unique experience to you and your guests. On this special evening, besides a sumptuous dinner, our Gala guests will also be treated to a performance by two-time Grammy Nominee, Roberta Gambarini. She will be performing alongside the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra (JASSO) led by Maestro Jeremy Monteiro. Roberta will perform songs from her best known recordings.

This year’s Gala is a Gala of Hope. Celebrate Hope with us at the JASS Benefit Gala 2023 “Over the Rainbow”.  This is also a time to celebrate JASS’ birthday as we turn 7 in September 2023.

Your unwavering support has helped JASS remain steadfast in our mission to promote the participation, engagement and excellence of jazz in Singapore with our presentations like our Jazz for Kids musical, Will The Egg Hatch, which was a big hit for children and their parents. Mental health is an important part of our work and we raised awareness of how enjoying jazz music through our presentation Swinging Through Our Emotions can help to ease mental health issues. We continued to strengthen the jazz eco-system through the JASS Scholarship, the JASS Support Fund and our partnership with ART DIS (formerly known as Very Special Arts) to ensure jazz is accessible to to all.

In 2023, we will launch our junior orchestra, re-invent the Lion City Jazz Festival to accentuate mentorship for the youth and launch our Jazz for Seniors programme.
