Dear Friends,

We hope that you are safe and well in these challenging times.

In view of COVID-19, JASS will be postponing our Gala from 10 July 2020 to Q1 2021 and will update the new date in due course. We will be contacting all donors and sponsors who have pledged their support.

The health and safety of our supporters, artists, staff and community are of top priority to us. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor and comply with government advisories in the planning of the Gala.

The Gala is our core fundraising activity to raise much-needed funds to sustain our programmes, which include continuing our community outreach performances to bring the joy of jazz to all during this trying period and beyond, funding jazz scholarships to nurture young local talents, and supporting local jazz musicians including providing short-term financial aid to deserving local jazz musicians impacted by crisis.

We appeal for your steadfast support to help keep the spirit of jazz and our musicians going. To book your table(s) at the Gala, kindly click here. For enquiries, please email

Once again, our heartfelt gratitude for your kind patronage and we wish you and your families good health, hope and peace as we overcome this crisis together!

Past Gala Highlights

Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore
Some Enchanted Evening

JASS’ second gala was inspired by “Some Enchanted Evening” from the 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “South Pacific” and celebrated the music of legendary songwriters Rodgers, Hart and Hammerstein who wrote a series of musicals dazzling Broadway and offered the world timeless jazz standards.

Ella 100, Jazz Forever
Regent Singapore

JASS held its inaugural Benefit Gala on 24 November 2017, with Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs, as Guest of Honour. The theme was "Ella 100, Jazz Forever!" The gala marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary vocalist, Ella Fitzgerald.

About the Gala

Laura Fygi

Jeremy Monteiro

Everywhere that Laura Fygi visits, there's one common factor- that instantly recognisable voice which has won her hearts all over the globe.

Dubbed "Singapore's King of Swing", Cultural Medallion recipient, jazz pianist, composer and producer Jeremy Monteiro has garnered critical acclaim all over the world.

Gala guests will be treated to the mesmerizing vocals and captivating stage presence of jazz diva, Laura Fygi, who will perform "Let There Be Love" and other well-loved jazz tunes.

This year, the gala will be especially meaningful as we are also celebrating the 60th birthday of JASS founder, Cultural Medallion-winner and Singapore's King of Swing, Jeremy Monteiro. Jeremy has tirelessly championed Singapore jazz and his dedication has led JASS to elevate the Singapore jazz scene in the few short years since our formation in 2016.

Funds raised will help us in our various programmes to:

  • lift the Singapore jazz scene through a core pool of distinguished local jazz musicians

  • nurture young local jazz talents

  • fund local and international jazz scholarships to deserving local youth musicians

  • bring jazz to people all over Singapore and promote interaction and cohesion among our diverse communities

  • showcase Singapore jazz to the world through international performances and collaborations

  • encourage inclusiveness by reaching out to the underserved through the universal language of jazz; and

  • support deserving local jazz musicians impacted by crisis with short-term financial aid
