MAYA RAISHA

A stand-out voice in Singapore’s new jazz vanguard, Maya Raisha was a recipient of the JASS Music Scholarship 2025, as well as being one of Esplanade’s Next Wave Artists of 2024, securing a coveted spot in the Mosaic Jazz Fellows programme.

Raised in a musical household, Maya began her musical journey with classical piano and percussion at the prodigious age of just four. Transitioning into jazz when she turned twelve and performing professionally the year after, her strong classical foundation underpins her remarkable vocal technique, effortless genre-bending capabilities, and deep technical prowess.

She has mesmerised global audiences with her commanding stage presence and mature, confident tone - gracing iconic venues from Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands to New York’s Carnegie Hall. Singing fluently in English, Malay and French, Maya seamlessly weaves jazz, soul, neo-soul, R&B and musical theatre into her music, drawing artistic vision from luminaries such as Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, P. Ramlee, and Saloma. With a burgeoning passion for Brazilian jazz, Maya continues to push the envelope and expand on her ever-growing repertoire.

As a JASS Music Scholar, Maya is currently pursuing her Masters in Jazz Studies (Performance) at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, New York. During her time in the Big Apple, Maya has performed alongside the Louis Armstrong House Big Band.
